several years ago, i sent herc and hydra the screen thief utility for capturing screenshots. after that, i started working on qfts, submitted it, and the rest is (not) history.

uhm... er... i've been zzt'ing since late '96, and have been in the community since late '97, when i joined if. ...that's pretty much it.

* Who or what are the inspirations for your ZZT (or MegaZeux) work?
some of my inspiration comes from video and pc games, but most just comes from my sick, twisted mind, or something.

I asked to join.

* Describe your history in the ZZT scene.
I started off on the old AOL ZZT scene and became quickly hated. I joined the internet community a year later or so and was even more hated. Eventually people started hating other people and I was able to get along in peace.

* Who or what are the inspirations for your ZZT (or MegaZeux) work?
Hmm... I don't think I have any, really.

I don't think that I enjoy having conspiracy theories. The idea of the government all of us Americans used to trust so much lying to us over all of these monumental events... it's disturbing. However, the most provocative theory (to me) is the JFK assassination, thinking of how blatant a lie it was that "Oswald was the sole killer" when there is mass amounts of contrary evidence to that. It's also interesting to think of how far up that conspiracy could have been involved.

* What is your favorite character in a ZZT game who says only one or a few lines?
Don't have one.

No doubt that it's Cartman.

* Which movie star or cartoon hero would resemble yourself best?
None of them do. I'm not a fictional character.

* How did you get into Interactive Fantasies?
Well, I was asked to be in it but I refused at first because I had other things and had to take care of. Then Herc said things could be arranged to let me in.... and I decided that I should take the offer. Pretty much Lame Game, which I still say is a great company, was idling. I mean, there were still people to talk to but nothing was being released and no interaction was taking place this kind of bugged me, plus it was time for me to 'explore' the community and why not camp here?

* Describe your history in the ZZT scene.
There is one statement to describe in my eyes, my history as a ZZTer, it is 'Short but efficient'. I found ZZT around november of 1999 and got into the community here a month later. That's is a relatively short time but I went straight to work. A few weeks after I got the program and made a really sucky game called Cheese, but hey the music was good, so I ended up being known as a musician in my newbie days. A few months after that in March of 2000, I had joined Lame Game and released my second game, River City. This showed that I wasn't too sucky and actually got pretty nice praise 'for a newbie'. Following the time line I made a game a few months later called Possessed, a dungeon crawler and favorite game I made by some. Then came kind of a turning point of my time here, I made Gems and Pipes in a few days, it is just a little engine game that I had fun making and ended up winning Best Puzzle/Most Innovative and other such honors in year end awards. Recently I released 4, another innovative engine game that contoversially rose to become GOTM, I left Lame Game, came here, and now it's today.

* Who or what are the inspirations for your ZZT (or MegaZeux) work?
Who inspires me? Almost everyone I come in contact with, prominent ones are Herc (shown in River City and Rebirth), Zenith (he just made an impact on me as a newbie), Viovis (same as Zen), Ringworm (see Possessed) and almost anyone else you can name. What inspires me? Music, music, music, music, and life. Seriously, everyday life, music and my own thoughts mold most things put the idea is influenced also by other games I played, movies I saw, etc.

I seem to have the uncanny ability to love and use them all. All chars are created equal!

I came, I saw, I conquered.

The truth that 'no women are on the internet.'

The guard that only says one thing over and over again in most adventure games is silly. Also it sounds weird but the Baron Cat in PPDV II! That cat inspired me!

KENNY! No one beats Kenny. He may die but while he's alive he's the coolest of the group.

* How did you get into Interactive Fantasies?
Well, at the companies forum at the ZA message boards, I learned that there was an open spot in IF. I didn't have much interest at the time until I heard that people actually supported me and said "Heh, Meantee would be a good addition to IF, blegh", and "Meantee is a talented individual. He should be in IF.". Then I started getting more interest in IF. Later, I decided to try and join, and for a month, I grappled and whatnot, and then, Herc sent me an e-mail titled "Welcome to IF! :D", and now, Iyam here.

I don't have any history, really. I have yet to release anything..... meh.

* Who or what are the inspirations for your ZZT (or MegaZeux) work?
I really like Zenith/Nadir's art, and his (or their?) game, ChickenWire. He is (or they are?) really funny.

After programming a few ZZT games I decided I needed to release my next titles under a name so I could be more easily known in the community. IF is the company I chose to apply at.

My experience in the community is limited to the few games I've released, and my participation in a 24ohz contest making Rhubarb Pie Strikes Bach.

* Who or what are the inspirations for your ZZT (or MegaZeux) work?
I was really really impressed with Akwende's work on Final Fantasy, but never plan to work in Megazeux. One of the first games I played was World. By WiL- Look at it! There's more to that game than it looks.

* How did you get into Interactive Fantasies?
I...don't know. Fishfood told to yell at Herc about joining IF, so I did and I got in. Yay.

* Describe your history in the ZZT scene.
Four years ago, I was an avid zzt player, downloading every game on AOL that looked like it was reasonably good, however, I never released anything of my own. Sure, I played around, Then I got a new computer, and played nothing but Quake.

Then I stumbled into the ZA. I downloaded Chrono Wars 10 and left. Then, after finishing that off, I started playing around with ZZT again, making something that vaguely involved Space Pirates, Post Offices, Communists, and this guy named Steve. I didn't really think it was that great, and I felt like abandoning it, so I uploaded a demo to the ZA. FISHFOD proceeded to write a 700 page review of the game, and that was quite a confidence boost.

At the same time, I was extremely discontent with the website I currently resided at the time, and I gradually shifted myself away from it into the ZZT community. Now that I'm in IF now, I think I'm stuck :(

At current, I only have two games released, one of them being my 24hozzt entry that people seem to think deserved a much higher score than it did, and Nothing Constructive. Although the month isn't over yet, a handful of people have told me I'm going to win GOTM, most of them being big important raa people, such as Tseng, Crank, and FISHFOD. The only people that seem not to like Nothing Constructive are the illiterate.

Oh yeah I also brought to light that ?rnd is a command, something that I thought people just knew...

* Who or what are the inspirations for your ZZT (or MegaZeux) work?
Other games, be them ZZT or not. Having a natural talent at writing stuff also helps a lot.

* How did you get into Interactive Fantasies?
Well... crap I don't remember exactly... But this is how I THINK it went. Herc was talking to me, and he told me that he had two people who he would like to have in his company. It was Zanno and myself, but I thought maybe Zanno should go and I could always wait. Then a couple weeks later, Wil left, and then I was offered again.

I first found out about ZZT in 1994-95 when my brother downloaded it off of a local BBS. I finished my first game in '95. It was not until '98, when I released JAVO that I met with the community. It was Viovis who I first met. After that, I began LOME, and 2 years later, I finished it. During that time I was off and on mIRC, and that is where I received this nick. Ever since then, I have been here.

* Who or what are the inspirations for your ZZT (or MegaZeux) work?
My first inspirations came from the older games, such as Monkey island by Chris Jong.. but now, MOST of my inspiration comes from my imagination.

It would have to be the ampersand (&). It looks better in ZZT.

That there are no seperate places called heaven or hell, but just one place, and we are living in it now. There is torture, there is pain, and when you have it good, it's soon to change. Life sucks, theres nothing good in it. Once a lover in bed, later a lover in sand. And once you die, there is no more. You just simply fade away... hmm, I guess it isn't really a conspiracy... Unless you want to say that God is trying to hid this!
